Halifax Speech & Language Services is a private clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive assessments and individualized plans of intervention for children and adults who are experiencing speech and language difficulties.

Mary H. Preston Mary H. Preston BN., MSc., S-LP (C) is a CASLPA certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has worked in public schools in both Nova Scotia and Vancouver and has extensive experience in the area of language and literacy development for children with learning disabilities. She has also been employed in a special needs preschool and a large adult hospital in Vancouver, servicing adults with aphasia and various language impairments due to stroke, brain injury, and neurological disorders. She is a Hanen certified SLP and has training in the Lidcombe Program of Early Stuttering Intervention. She has been a clinical supervisor for speech pathology interns at UBC and Dalhousie University.  Mary's professional interests include preschool speech & language development, stuttering, language learning and literacy development, verbal apraxia, and aphasia. Mary holds an undergraduate degree in Nursing Science with several years experience in neonatal intensive care. She is a mother of 4 children and an avid runner. Mary established Halifax Speech & Language Services in 2000.
Nancy Cieplinski Nancy Cieplinski BSc., Ed.M, CCC-SLP, S-LP (C) is a CASLPA and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She has extensive experience in the public school system, where she has provided service to children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication difficulties, including alternative and augmentative approaches to enhancing communication (AAC). She has also maintained a private practice with adults and children in both Halifax and Mexico City. Her professional interests include articulation difficulties, language and literacy development and disorders, and voice dysfunction. Nancy and her husband have three grown children and three grandsons. Nancy enjoys learning about other cultures, people, and places, through cooking, baking, and reading.
